I am increasingly liking the 15x4 1/2'' rocket racing launchers , since my front dragstars don't match my rear rims , which are perfect for my set up .
I think they would go well with the nostalgia look of my 68 fastback . unfortunately , like always I have screwed around too long , they have tripled in price since I first started thinking about them.. If anyone has a pair in good shape that their not using , I`d trade my weld dragstars for them.....

Back spacing is 4.5
The front is 15x4
Back spacing is 2.25

i have a stock location leafs and a body 8.75 housing im running 15x8 now steel wheels with 255/60/15 drag radials, id love to run a 15x10 but dont think i can fit a 275 in the wheel houses. ill probably go 15x8 4.5 backspace. anyone have experience with the larger wheel? or if a different backspace will accommodate the 15x10??

You're right, 30's were snug but they fit - no problem.

Do you recall what width wheels you've got up front?

I just moved the rear end about 5/8" rearward and they fit like a charm. Pretty simple really.

To follow up on this old thread, I ended up going with the polished version of the wheels. Tires are 295/65/15 MT ET Streets and 185/75 M&H radials

The rears wheels are 15×10
Back spacing is 4.5
Tires are 26x12x15
The front wheels are 15x4
Back spacing is 2.25
Tires are 26x7.5x15
The wheels are expensive, but for me ,they are a one time expense, so I made sure they are what I wanted.

It seems like EVERYTHING wheel related is expensive now. Compared a new summit catalog to a three year old one. Roughly 50-100% increase.
Wheels I bought for my Opel are now more than double what I paid.
Tires that were $250 ea are now $375.
Oem tires for my sporty car are $1200. Not gonna happen.

I have 295 60 d 15 hoosiers under a stock 68 barracuda , rolled fenders , massaged the hi spots in the inner fender wells , stretched the front of the wheel opening to the inner fender "which is exactly the same contour" on a 68 fastback w/Dana 60/Detroit locker/disc brakes... Only mopar guys can tell...
15x81/2 rear wheels w/ 3 3/4'' back space ...have about 1/2'' clearance everywhere , never touched ..

That's a cool look! I'm going with the black ones for the '69 (but now you have me thinking of powdercoating the rim like this!

Reading that made me look up my wheels. I’ll just say I’m glad I bought them when I did because there is no chance I would spend that much on them now. Sickening.
