Hi All,

Too often we like to shout out only about bad vendor experiences we've had. Today I want to take an opportunity to shout out about a great one.

I've recently had a wonderful product and service experience from Apipco with their plastic glove box liners and just wanted to let everyone know what kind of vendor Apipco is.

I originally ordered a non-AC box for my '69 Barracuda and it shipped out and arrived from across the country very quickly. I had some serious struggles with installation as I could not get the top 2 mounting screws to line up because something was hitting in the dash cavity. It was only off by a couple of millimeters, but I could not get the top screws in no matter how I tried.

I contacted Carl at Apipco and we had some phone and email conversations. He let me know that in over 1000 boxes made, he's only had 1 other fitment issue like this - on his brother's 1969 Barracuda, so familiar territory for me as mine has resisted every effort and every part I've put into it so far.

Carl made me another box, an AC version, as it trims an inch off the back on the side where I believed it to be hitting and shipped that out to me as his main concern was making sure I got something that worked. He several times said he didn't want me to even consider modifying or trimming anything in the car to fit the box - he'd make a box fit the car as it should even if he had to custom build one for me.

During the wait for the new box, we continued to have conversations just checking in, where we commiserated on the pains of working on our cars. In addition to his brother having a Barracuda, Carl has a Duster. So they're also Mopar faithfuls!

Their only concern the entire time was that I was a satisfied customer and I truly appreciate that.

The new box arrived and went in without a hitch, and the original one I received has already made its way to another FABO member local to me. He also liked the look and quality of it. It is a fantastic product. I'll put one of these in every car I end up having.

Apipco is a great company with sterling service and a product that is just as good as that service.

I wonder if he makes them for 67's? What did it run you for the box?

awesome - I hope he gets a wider selection for my B Bodies sometime soon

I have a new cardboard repop sitting on the shelf waiting to go in. After reading this review, I will def order and use his instead. Thanks for letting us know, always good to hear there are still vendors out fighting the good fight.

Now, the question is, 2017's scheduled project is to install AC in the Valiant. The aftermarket units use the non-AC heater box, but is there any reason I should order the Non-AC liner vs AC liner?

I'd say to contact them through the link on their site. Carl was very knowledgeable about what would fit and and was quick to suggest moving me to the A/C box. I'm sure he would be happy to help you out. In my instance, something was hitting on top of the box, at the rear right. I couldn't get a view of what I was contacting, but it was a solid enough contact to keep me from being able to align the top screws. So I don't believe that the heater box itself was involved in my fitment issue at all. It's just that my Barracuda must be related to Christine.

From what I saw, the main difference between the 2 boxes is depth on that right side. So if you don't mind giving up an inch of glovebox volume there, you'd certainly be safe with the AC box regardless.

If your cardboard one is a non-A/C and you can put it in without any rubbing, scuffing, or crushing, you'd probably be safe with the non-A/C.
