Was just reading the 318 thread about the header question.
318s are a low compression motor because the pistons sit lower in the holes. is this correct and if so is it also true for the 69 318?
What I want to know is . Can I use 360 rods in a 318 ,are they longer then 318 rods. I know the stroke on the cranks are different and also the main journals size is larger, but if the rods are longer that would raise the piston up higher thus raising compression and making it worth putting 2.02s j heads or x heads and headers etc. Of course if rods are the same lenght does not matter mostly concerned that if they are would the piston hit the valves. Just looking for an inexpesive way to up compression. LOL.
