Are my torsion Bars Weak? '65 Dart

And how would I know?

We have all new front end parts (except t bars), we've been to the front end shop 3 times now, wearing out tires, each time they adjust the height up, line it up, and off we go. slowly we notice the front looks low again.

Now the tbar adjusters are almost bottomed out, and the car is riding low again.

the brace where the tbars land looks fine, no rust.

What do I look for now?

If it is all put together correctly I would assume that you need an upgrade to the torsion bars.


Just say NO to Layson's :bootysha: Restorations, Mail order or in person.

You will need to figure out what diameter you need.

If the adjusters are almost bottomed then replace them. My therory is while rebuilding a 40+ year old front end why cheap out and not replace the bars too.

Check eBay. Just suspension has them listed there on sale a lot.

17K and counting, there isn't much "cheaping out" going on here.
