Needing to buy an aftermarket or perfect refurbished one and listings don't indicate what they have fits a convertible ... hoping someone has clarity on this !
Are Rear View Mirrors the Same for Convertible vs Coupe/Fastback on a 1968 Barracuda?

Convertible is different. The mirror itself is pretty much the same, the base is different. The stem might be chrome on a convertible. A convertible guy can answer that better
Convertible is specific to verts.
I just remembered that I have a convertible rearview mirror but it is not perfect condition

Send me a pic when you can and I'll compare to what I have. Hoping someone has a good quality one, but the odds on that are going to be pretty low.

I'm 6'1" so might have that issue. Could I ask you to post a photo of what you did and the vendor you bought the mirror from in the event we determine I need to go that direction?
Are 68 and 69 matte chrome / argent. (67 are bright chrome)
I got a 68/69 horn ring and it was matte chrome
Yes like a satin nickel. I believe the horn ring are the same
I'm about 6'2" so I think you'll have problems too. I reinstalled the mirror and you can see that it is practically in the middle of the field of view. I ended up using a generic parts store glass mount replacement. Sunvisors dont attach, but that hasn't been a problem.
The mirror was all polished through 67. Like the anti-sail wipers, eyesore to me. The mirror hanging in my coupe is a later model black.

Oh boy, that does look like an issue. I swear this last 10% of the build has surfaced so many issues like this -- death by a thousand knife wounds!!!
I already bought davescuda's mirror (pics posted above). At minimum, we'd disassemble the mirror and use the mount to engage the visors. That said, we are also considering loosing the visors too. I'm traveling until late in the week and will deal with this stuff when I get back from the trip and have the mirror from davescuda. Guess I'l spend some time looking for aftermarket glass attachable mirrors in the meantime so we have a contingency plan.

Good idea on removing the mirror just to hold down the visors. I've also considered shortening the arm that the mirror is attached to by cutting it down, drilling it, and using a long set screw to reattach the ends.
Look for a dash cam mirror if you are going that route
Yellow set screw removed mirror head from mount.
Red arrows point to a couple screws that hold down a plate that tensions the ball joint. Removing those screws should allow the arm to be removed (assuming the arm can fit through the hole in the base)

Thanks for the lead on this ... Every little thing about the last 10% of this 3.5 year build is killing us !!!
Well the mirror end will not go through the hole 
But it got me to thinking....
I could reverse engineer the shaft but shorter.
And either reuse the ball end buy having a setscrew in the shaft to capture it in a hole or RE the ball end and have threads.
And print it in Stainless steel
My guess is the ball end is pressed into the cast end ( or the cast part is cast around the ball end )

So the stem pressed into a headlight switch knobs is barbed for obvious reason. I'm wondering about the ball stud,,, splined? Barbed? Might learn something here. LOL
Where the arrow is the ball end is splined and pressed into the shaft. You would have to separate it here and then you can use a shorter shaft. Also you can change the ball part also and get a shorter splined area, The round shafts are a lot shorter
