or armchair guesstimant, please, no pics just description. hey i don't even own a cell phone, ( maybe why i love the early A and B bodies!?),, console at, its a total project( yep done this many times before), basically all there except one headlight bezel and piece of chrome below grill, missing rad., non runner,/s, have access to motors, tranny there, interior there , good cores, lower qtr rust is basically all to deal with far as rust goes, good frame, floors have been patched, pretty straight, good glass, instruments there, good bumpers. etc is it worth $500? i figure worth that for parts. gettin it from friend, don't want to short him and don't want to put more in it than is worth too. thanks BILL

So, with the early cars especially, there are A LOT of one-year-only parts that aren't being reproduced. If the car in question has most of the interior and body hardware, $500 is probably a fair price. You could part it and break even. A solid rust-free early A body shell is probably also worth $500. A repaint, and new interior will set you back $2500-$5000 assuming you do a lot yourself and don't go too nuts. A complete mechanical rebuild can easily soak up another $5000-$7500. When you're done, will the car be worth $8000? Probably, but you'll be hard pressed to get $13000. As a speculative investment, early A's seldom make much sense. BUT, for $10,000 or so you can have a really nice car to use and drive. As a price comparison, a manky used-up E body that need just about everything will cost nearly that much.
