:angry7:i really dont know what to say...but im pissed ....i put my lowering blocks on and i messed up the threads on the leaf spring purch....( if thats what it is called)the part at the very bottom of your leaf spring that attaches to the bottom of the shock.....i think i need a new one of these....are these parts universal among a-bodies...?or does anybody have one they can sell to get a member back on the road.....

You need a shock mount plate that matches the rear you have. Are the threads so screwed up that you can't run a die over the threads to clean/fix them?

yep shock mounts threads are busted....i'll try to die grind them in the morning...is there self screwing nuts.....or would i have to replace the whole shock mount

mancini has new bolt on studs for thier plates would be cheaper than whole new plate if you cant fix it. you would have to drill out old stud.

the nut does nothig really but keep the shock in place. If I was in a hurry I might drill a hole through the stud for a cotter pin and save the fix for another day.

^^^^^
I was thinking the same thing at first.....

Instead of going through all that trouble you should just swap to at least an 8-1/4".

Napa sells the studs, grind your old one flush, drill it out, has a lock washer and nut on the one side, stud and threads on the other for your shock, 6 bucks at any napa.

I've got a set of these 7 1/4 shock plates just waiting to be sent to the metal scrap man. Send me $20 and you'll have a good set if that's the route you want to go.
