Automatic center console removal

How does one remove the center console? I would like to change the burned out bulb. Thanks. Ray '67 Barracuda

Should be a hex key, undo that and then I think the knob turns to get the shifter knob off. From there I believe you simply undo the bolts inside the console, and lift the console up over the shifter lever.

I just removed my automatic trans console last week. There are two screws inside the console and two more near the front outer sides of the console, one on either side, probably buried in the carpet by now. Best to remove the inner screws first, then you can lift the console a bit to see where it pivots near the front; your screws will be found there. The shifter knob has a set screw, which must be removed. The knob itself is then unscrewed counterclockwise from the cable end. It could be a little tight from age, but will pop loose.
