Console Shifter button

On a 66 console shifted automatic, how does the shifter button come off? I have a 66 missing that shifter button, and another console shifter for parts, but I cant figure out how to remove and replace that shifter button.

Loosen the allen screw on the back of the knob and then you can turn the whole knob. Turning it counter clockwise will unscrew the button. When reinstalling don't tighten it to far or you won't be able to push the button down to shift it.
