Automatic Transmission Cooler Lines

-
Ya I hear that. I took my car on a 35 mile run Saturday. ( off the trailer). My duel radiator fans kept the engine at 180 in traffic and my trans was at 140-160 the whole time. I should pron just take one out and put it up front where all the mustangs, novas and civics run them. Then I will have to trailer it around.

I personaly used the stock lines from the tranny to the front of the k- member. Where I cut them off. used compression fittings to install hose barbs on the ends and ran about 2 ft of rubber to the radiator and external cooler (Local auto parts store should sell and stock rubber line dedicated for tranny fluid). Its a tad bit more than fuel line prices. My radiator is setup to use double flare fitting so I picked up 10" 5/16th brake line from O' reillys and bent a S shape into it and cut it in half. That gave me to 90* bends with double flares on one side of each. Once again used compression fittings to install barb hose fitting on the other ends the connect the rubber hoses. I could get pics later if needed.

Autoparts stores carry power steering rubber line an sell it by the foot . It is used for the low pressure side of the power steering and works well for transmission lines.

Every hose and fittings on cars built here are Fragola used by Nascar easiest and strongest fittings. A must have to race in New Jersey never a leak the trick is 3&1 oil on the ends.

I started using blue push-lock on diesel builds. Cheaper and just as strong.

Wish I would have read this thread a couple weeks ago! Just finished installing a new B&M cooler and -6AN lines/fittings but used the nitrile braided stainless from Jegs, not the PTFE stainless hose. Tried to find some pressure and/or temp ratings on Jegs' website for the stuff I bought but struck out.

This gonna be a big deal? Hate to redo the job but....

Car's a summer/street driver only and will never see the track. Running a 727 with a 9.5"/3000 stall though and 3.91s???

Thanks in advance for the help!
