I believe the 4611S AVS carburetor is original for a 1969 Dart 340 4 speed. Does anybody know anything about the 4611SA AVS carburetor. It has 2 idle screws instead of 1. Is it an original AVS for a 1969 Dart 340 4 speed?

yes should also have this bracket and dashpot for the carb. LMK if you need a dashpot.

It's hard to spot, but my question is actually wondering if the 4611SA is a stock carburetor for a 1969 Dart 340. Maybe it is a California carb with the 2 idle screws.

are those screws hidden in the aluminium casting? that you have to cut off to get to the screws?

I believe the original 4611S AVS had 1 idle screw as shown. Also shown is the 4611SA AVS which has 2 idle screws. Does anybody know for sure if the 4611 SA is an original 69 Dart 340 carburetor? Only the 4611S is shown in my Part & Casting Numbers Book.

That's a 4611 in my pic on my 383 RR, 4611 is a 69 340 4-'speed carb, it's jetted identical to the 4426 68 383 carb. Mine has the two adjusting screws and still has the dash pot and bracket that the 4 speed carbs had, looks like a lot of people tossed out the bracket when rebuilding these way back when.

The 4611S is the original carburetor for a '69 340 4 speed and has 1 adjustment screw.
The 4611SA is the replacement carburetor for that same application and has 2 screws.
The screws on the 4611S are behind lead plugs in the same locations as the ones on the 4611SA in the pictures. They are headless screws and require a very small screwdriver to turn.

So if the 4611SA is a replacement carburetor, does that mean it would not be proper for a correct restoration? And what does replacement mean? Was it years later or when?

'69 parts book lists it as Carter PN. 4611S and Chrysler PN. 2946576, so if you ordered one from a Chrysler dealer I'm not sure which one,( the S or the SA), you'd get, but, if you got it from a Carter dealer you'd get the SA. The non accessible air bleed screws were a smog deal and maybe the law didn't apply to replacement parts, don't know. I bought my Dart from a dealer in Batavia, OH. and it came with the S carburetor. Believe me, Batavia, OH. ain't nuthin' like anywhere in CA.lol. You might check with Scottsmith Harms on Moparts, he's in the know on this stuff.
