So my dad recently purchased a 1970 roadrunner. With power brakes and front disks. The problem is the master cylinder keeps leeking in the front. It has wrecked all the paint on the inner fender. We tried putting new gasket material under the current rubber but it did not stop it. Any advice or links to new parts would be great. Oh we also had the brakes bled and cleaned up the edge of the cylinder

Sorry can't really help on the leak but the best thing you can do is change out the brake fluid to the new silicon dot 5 fluid. It dose not eat paint or draw moisture.

but dot 5 must have seals that can take that fluid , had to find out the hard way . get that master rebuilt , or replace it , and if its a line that re-flare it . it is a sealed system .

We have found that the new covers that come with new or rebuilt MC's are pretty thin and not well stamped; there are high spots on the underside near the mid-points. And I have read that the gasket materials are not as compliant as the original. We have been having cover leaks too, as have others reporting here.

He is going to order a new one but there has to be a way to fix this. Is there an aftermarket one that will work and bolt on?

Try tightening up the bail if equiped, or finding an original lid if your MC is shaped and sized like an original
