B&M floor shifter in a valiant

i was wondering if anyone knew if the B&M z-gate shifter would work in a 68 valiant with a 727 auto from a 1974 dodge van?

the car is originally a manual trans with the shifter on the column...i was going to replace the column with an different one from an auto with the shifter on the column, but i have been tossing around the idea of just using a floor shifter instead....

good idea? bad idea?

it should go right in with no problem, good idea.

My valiant was the same way....I used a b&M star shifter..you can find them used, pretty cheap..
