Well i got my truck traded for a 73 duster on friday 318 with 360 heads new edelbrock air gap intake hedman header, edelbrock 750 carb, and brand new tires. The car needs some but i have been without a a body for myself about 3 years and it was killing me. The car wont be a full resto as most money is going to my 70 challenger. But it will be a nice driver the engine was out when i got the car had me a little worried but the guy was super nice and it turned by hand good. I got to work saturday and have the engine and trans in and bolted up the big chore of putting the headers on is done and just have to put in radiator trans cool and wire it all up. I am super excited about having a classic mopar to drive and drive i will as this will be my daily drive sort of. Im lucky enough my wife works where i do and i just hicth a ride with her to work lol. Car needs lower quarters but not much body work other than that plan is to work on it as i drive and do a repaint and freshen up the interior so follow along.

Yeah i was ready to do some work on it and get it going hopefully this weekend. I'm sure i will be posting asking advice and looking for parts. I love this site and the few people i have met from here have been nothing but awesome. I hope to meet many more fellow fabo members when the car is looking a little better this spring the wife and i plan on going to some shows and burning up the highway

Well didnt get much done on the duster this weekend. I did get the engine wiring fixed as someone had done a real hack job on it. I got to hear the engine try to fire but i need to mess with the timing some. I sold the new edelbrock carb and put on one of my thermoquads the money will help me buy some quarter patches. I have more wiring to check out as none of the gauge lights work or wiper motor. I did buy a new grille for it its for a 75 or 76 but it was only 10 bucks so i bought it.

Very very nice and yes it is one of the best feelings to have a new Mopar especially one you can drive daily. Congrats! The graphic looks cool too. Makes the car stand out, people will see your Duster coming.

Thanks guys i'm ready to drive it. I don't care much for the scoop that's on it right now i have a max wedge scoop laying around i though about sitting on there to see what it looks like has anyone ever tried this before.

Well i tore down and rebuilt my thermoquad last night so its ready for my to fire the car up this weekend. My wonderful wife even let me take it apart in the house it was a little chilly outside lol. I had to go outside to use the carb cleaner though but it came out nice i think and is ready for use. Here's some pics

Not much done on the duster got all the wiring figured out and had the car but carb needs a little tuning and ran out of time. This weekend was busy with christmas shopping. I did pick some stuff up for the shop at my house which is where all work will be done once the car is running. I will do the body and all upgrades there so i needed a few things. Cheap stuff not a good miller welder but if it can get me threw a couple cars i will be happy.

mygauge lights and wiper didnt work either- mine turned out to be the fuse block contacts. They looked clean but after I cleaned them up with the dremel- they all worked. Clean the circuit board contacts on the back of the dash and maybe add a ground wire to the board and dash. Easy work and everything will work better. Also- clean all the bulkhead contacts while you are at it.

thanks john i will have to try that and hopefully it will fix my electrical gremlins.

Keep up the enjoying time 65dart360 and turbomopar, and congratulations
on getting a great A body back in youir life

Thanks memike i will keep enjoying and glad to be back in an a body. I have read some of your updates on your car and the 4bbl setup surre is good looking. I see your in jonesboro i'm in ava,mo about an hour west of bill in west plains maybe i will see you around some time.

Well been awhile since i updated so here it is. Not much going on with the car doing some parts gathering. I have been driving it quite a bit here lately and having fun. The engine that came with the car is a little on the tired side. Runs decent but has some blow by and the oil pressure is about 9 psi hot at idle and 25 going down the road. Not to worry though i have a harness and pcm for a 5.2 magnum as well as a rebuild kit for a 5.2 magnum i picked up super cheap. The only thing missing is the 5.2 some i'm on the look out for one. I have taken off the ugly scoop and put on a max wedge one i had laying around looks better also working on restoring my cluster

Well i have repaired a few more rust spots and need to post some pics. The biggest news though is i bought a running 92 dodge with a 318 so all the fuel injection and overdrive trans is going in the duster. I hope to really have this project moving along as the weather warms up

Well it's been a little bit since last update so here it is. I took the body of the parts truck frame and took the engine and trans out. So far i have sold the frame grille and rear end and tires and made all my money back on the truck plus 25 bucks lol. I drop the k member out of the duster at my dads shop and made some stands with casters on the bottom so i could move the car on the trailer and around my shop at home. The car is now home in my shop and body work will begin along with modifications for the fuel injection. Also will putting a ram heater box in it so i can have a/c for the kids when we go to shows and gatherings. I also made the front caster stands pretty tall so i can work underneath the front part of the car pretty easy.

Well gotta a little more news. I got a 8 1/4 rear for the car to replace to 7 1/4 from a mopar guy i just met that doesn't live to far from me. It's always awesome to meet mopar guys close to you as they are far and few between around me down here in chevy country. I found it on craigslist and called him he said i would rather trade for something instead of cash. I told him i didn't have much to trade but he was welcome to come over to my house and look. I didn't have much there he was interested in but he said let's just unload this rear end and give me a call when you have i might be interested in. I said are you sure he said yeah about a week later i got my hands on a msd ignition box pretty cheap and he took that. I got a awesome deal i got a rear end and got to meet a awesome mopar guy . I will be rebuilding the rear as soon as i decide on what gears. I also will take some pics and post of my work on the car. I have gotten my 99 ram heater and a/ box all mounted up under the dash and just have to make some patch panels to weld in the firewall where thee old blower and heater tubes came out.
