Back up switch

I have a leaking back up light switch on my a833.. Leaking from the prongs.. Anyone ever install one without the "optional" gasket..?

The replacement paper gaskets are terrible. Buy quantity you'll need more then one as you rip them. Use a slippery grease on both sides.

If your prongs are leaking its no good.

If leaking through the electrical connectors or from metal body to plastic inner- you need to replace the switch and gasket.

I bought one from Advance Auto, and it didn't come with a gasket.. I went on Brewers site and it has the gasket as a separate purchase, which seems weird if it's needed and sounds like there'd be no chance of reusing an old one. I now have the switch and gasket coming from Brewers and I'll just take the other back.
