backing plate ?s

i have a complete 1971 a body 7.25 & was wondering if i can use the entire brake assemblies on my 1970 a body 8.75 ? both are factory sbp...

Yes if the 7.25 ones are 10 inch but you may have to drill the 5th hole in the backing plate for the axle & housing the 7 1/4 backing plates usually have 4-holes

if it does not...just as easy to knock the bottom stud out

Drill the 5th hole, takes 2 minutes and 5 is stronger than 4.
