More than Rob 16 is what I use.

Existing wires are only 18 or 16 gauge, so as Ray says, 16 is plenty.

This is a good time to suggest making an addendum to the owners manual . I plan on someone inheriting my Barracuda and I am keeping track of all of the modifications for future repair procedures.

I used a 12AWG Bare Copper. 11 Years no issue All hidden makes me smile every time I open the Hood!

Same as my Pertronix III, You are hard pressed to notice it is not a stock ignition!

A non issue, the guy I did it for will have the car until they outlaw gasoline for sure. Beyond that, who cares?

It is only a short piece of wire [ 3" ] so it's wire gauge in terms of voltage drop is less of an issue compared to a 3ft length of wire. Use what you have lying around....
