Finally a day at my local track with no rain in sight. Ran a 6.03@111mph first time trial. A 6.04@111mph the second time trial. Dialed a 6.04 first round and I’m moving on. If this car had a better driver it would be in the winners circle once in awhile.

Nice. The guy in the other lane, is that a turbo car?
Wow, almost 1.60 60 foot and 0ver 112 in the 1/8 and only 6.50.
Odd numbers lol

Ok it’s a friend’s girlfriend so I went and asked him. It’s a 464 or something like that and she like the guy I raced last week leaves in 2nd gear in their powerglide. Beautiful red 69 Z28 that will run high 5.80’s running it as a 2 speed. She’s kinda afraid of wheelies. Lol

Haha, makes sense.lol
Was gonna say, that thing is a hard charging sucker for a 6.50 car
That will probably trip somebody up at the big end

I noticed that too. Very odd.
Edit: just saw John's explanation. That has got to be hard on a good glide. Seven tenths off, for no first gear? Wow.

He was explaining it to me but I’m going to have to dig deeper into this discussion with him a the big money race in two weeks. Somehow they have to put a mechanical lockout on it because if you bump the shifter even in the pits driving it will lock up the rear wheels. I don’t think he’s running on in his dragster but as I was pulling out he won and was heading to the finals. They had a lot of cars today and really pushed through the program. I can blame them as they ran last night, today, and a track rental by the guy that owns Orieys auto parts. My buddy gave me a free entry but I’ll be going to church.

This is the gentleman that owned my black duster and beat me. She races a dragster too. I went to congratulate them and I got to meet their new puppy and get a kiss from him.

Was great seeing you John and happy to see you go a few rounds.

Great seeing you guys too. Sorry I didn’t get to visit more but man they were really moving that program along yesterday. I’ve never seen them go through so many cars so fast.

Don’t be sorry, we all had our hands full, I barely got to hang out with Tim and Gene in their pits. I was focusing on helping my dad all weekend so I get it. Can’t wait for us to all get back out there again soon.

I actually said that to a few of my buddies. I left after buy backs but Derek made it to 5 cars left in no box. They stuck around till after no box finals were done and pulled out a little after 8. That's super early for keystone. I've been there till after midnight and they still weren't through the finals. If you think about it, they had very little breakages yesterday which helped a ton but they were very efficient yesterday.

Absolutely, and they still did their 15 minute track prep in between rounds and still got it done early. Typically on points days from what I’ve noticed, if there aren’t breakages that hold things up, and they start time runs on time, they can get things done relatively quickly.

Some guys like our announcer and some guys don’t but her was a BIG part of yesterday’s efficiency. Today makes their third day in a row with the Orieys track rental. I guess the big honcho is from down south and a racer so that may help. He has three track rentals in the local area.

I personally love the announcer. Ya he makes mistakes sometimes but he did keep calling them and I find him funny.
