Hello, I have a 1974 duster automatic with 360 and i have been wanting to get some nice beefy subframe connectors for it. I plan to daily drive the car as well as auto cross it.

Unfortunately I don't have the tools or space to build my own. Is there any one out there who builds those nice beefy subframe connectors (bolt on / weld in later)?

I have looked into the Competition Engineering and US Car Tool ones but cant help but love the big boxed ones like mopardude318 did.

has anyone tried the Hotchkis ones?
They seem to be the beefiest bolt on ones i have seen.

You would have to cut the floor to do it like MD318 did. Same way I did mine on my Duster. It is the strongest way to go. Carpet will not lay down though. Any connector is better than nothing. Weld them in and your good to go.

Is this a street or drag car?

Wherever you decide to get your subframe connectors, make sure you get the correct ones. The link you supplied for the Hotchkis adapters is for 111" wheelbase cars. Your Duster has a 108" wheelbase.
Summit Racing Equip. shows PN HSS-4014 for 108"wb, and PN HSS-4015 for 111"wb A-bodies.

Well the car will most likely not see any drag strips only street and autocross. With all the turning and what not in autocross I wanted to get the biggest support i could get.

But now looking at crackedback's link that looks like something i can fab and get someone to weld it in for me. (I don't have a welder) That should keep my wallet a bit fatter.

On the cheap, buy 2x2 or 2x3, .083 or .120 wall stuff and fab them up.

Search around here, there are MANY threads on frame connectors people have built.

$280 for a set of frame connectors... not a fricken chance.

ooh and thanks for the wheelbase info! I had not noticed the difference.

Its amazing what people will charge for some simple parts just cuz they have a name slapped on them.

the article at bigblockdart.com is based on a dodge dart with 111 wheel base...just to let you know...

i used 2 x 3 x .125 square tubing..and tied the roll bar into the frame rails...
