Do the bellhousings for manual transmissions have the VIN stamped on them, and if they do, where is it located? I have two bellhousings and have someone who needs one. I don't want to possibly sell off the numbers-matching one for my car. Thanks.

No VIN numbers on bellhousings. VIN numbers will be on back of the block, pan rail, radiator support, trunk w/s lip and transmission.

Like said above, but the VIN numbers were stamped on the bell housing portion on the automatic cars, not on the manual cars in 1968. Every year from 1968-up were stamped on the 4-speed transmissions.

The rear body number varies on the A-body type and at times the assembly plant too.
