Hello, I'm a new A-body owner, just bought my first one a 70 340 4sp, dart swinger, purple and white. Its a complete basket case. Needs every thing, I found a 72 four door. Will the front and rear bench seats fit, as cores?
Thanx:banghead:

Most people swap for buckets, which is a better way to go if you road race/like turns, but for cruising a bench will work. Other then the pattern the seat should be the same but the 4 door cars won't have the back of seat move forward to allow easier access to the back seat.

I just switched my '70 two door bench for a '74 four door high back bench. The seat backs between two and four door models of the same year are the same but you will need to get latches for them. The latches from my '70 wouldn't work on the '74.

If you take the cover off the side of the seat, you will find that the four door has a figure 8 bracket on it locking the seat back from folding. I couldn't find the needed latches local but another member was kind enough to find them for me at his local boneyard. I paypalled him cash for parts and shipping.

The first photo is what I had on my four door '74 seat and the second is like what he got me.

I'll try to find the thread we communicated in.
