    hey guys
I put in a lean too a while ago and I want to run out some electrical
(im pretty impressed with myself, I already added a new circuit to the panel, and installed an outlet, all up to code)

now, I want to branch off of that outlet to put a gangbox in the ceiling to later plug some lights into

so all I need is 4 90 degree bends for a total of 11 ft of conduit
not really worth the money to buy a bender, so any have any suggestions?

Check with a good local hardware store. I 'think' you can by 90's pre-bent, you will just need to buy couplers to connect the bend to the straight.

I do have a contractor buddy (in fact, hes the guy I gave the bronco to, in return for some work) I could bug, he will be around the house sooner or later
that might be the best way to go

buying the prebend ones would probably put me halfway to the cost of the bender, so I don't like that idea either

just one more thing to trip over
if i thought id ever need it again, i probably would (no, i wouldnt, im cheap, and the tool is more then the materials involved)

This is a stupid post. Harbor freight has what you need (plus a piece of pipe for leverage) For $7.49
The conduit you trash will cost you more!!!!!!!
I know there stuff is low quality but not bad for just a few uses.

            Pre plan your bends.
Cough up the $40 and go to Lowe's / Home Depot or wherever and buy the bender.
Take it home and make your bends.
Take bender back the next day and tell the person at the return desk " l bought the wrong size".
            They don't give a sh*t. anyhow.
            Get your money back.
Someone l know.... ( not going to mention any names) Did that recently with a $90 laser level for a 5 minute job.

Try to bend a piece of it using a pulley off an engine, everybody has a few of them laying around.

Conduit is ridiculously easy to bend. I had several 90 degree bends needed when I put power to my attic a few yrs. back. Used a cast iron dumbbell as form, me as bending power & rubber mallet for final touch.

4 90s in 11 feet of conduit all the same run? The rule is no more than three if more are needed then use a pull box somewhere in the run.

A good, Ideal 1/2" EMT bender is only $34.- at Home Depot.

You could Run #14 Romex IF it is a dedicated circuit just for lights (15 amp), or run #12 Romex to do it right (20 amp), or a 50' roll of 10/3 is only 84.- and be good for 30 amp.

I used my bender to make a portable work stand with some light chain and bolts from the hardware store.

                        thanks guys
ill swing by harbor freight, and check, im sure I can spare 7.49

thanks, since this is an addition, 3 of those 90s are to go over the original roofline
I figured id put the wire in before I bend the conduit

its under a carport, so I guess that counts as a damp location

EXACTLY what I would do. You will absolutely get the same protection, and what is easier than gluing PVC? Plus, you can scuff it and paint it if you want.
