Purchased A Yuasa 620 CCa Commercial Battery over a year ago and Had It Tested and Its only 77% healthy , Basically cannot keep up with Current draw,

Batteries Here In NZ are branded Differently , But We Do Have The Optima Series

Whiich would be Better Yellow Top or Red

Seemingly I need !3.5 Volts Constant to run Msd

Is a regulator Needed ???

An Odyssey would be a better choice than an optima. You should double check on MSD's website but I believe they should operate fine on 12 volts. I have never had an issue with my Digital 6. Make sure its a dedicated 12-volt source and that you have a good ground.

Ive used a optima yellow for about 6 years now with no trouble.

Yep Worked Out The Amps It Draws 50 Total On 75 amp Altenator.

Blue top tested at 900 cca blue Top,

Car ran 13s flat at the weekend ,

is it ok to connect my msd 6al to the alternator output rather than direct to the battery being that I have wire already going from alt to bat would save me rewiring and lengthening wires
