I am taking out my 318 and dropping in a 408. I know the mounts are the same, but I don't know how old mine are and it would be foolish not to change them. What is the best way to go? I am looking at Prothane now but figured I would ask the guys who have been there. What should I use?

I have a 73 k-member in my 72 Demon. I used the Schumacher Creative Services '73 & Up Poly Spool motor mount Replacement Kit and their Torque Strap. Here's the link:

This works really well because the motor does not move around so the clutch doesn't bind and the headers do not hit (TTIs are very close to T-bars).

I run the crappy auto parts store motor mounts and a Schumacher Torque Strap. Engine does not move and no vibrations.

I see a torque strap available on their website, but Schumacher doesn't show any mounts for a 73 A body.

They are there, Part number 73PLA.

Listed as: " '73 & Up Poly Spool 273/318 or 340/360 Replacement Kit Original V8 Spool Mount Replacements available for '73 & up A,B,F,M,J-Body 273, 318, 340 and 360 engines. Kit includes powder-coated brackets, polyurethane spool inserts, grade 8 bolt package."
