I am putting a 440 in my '67 Valiant. I am keeping the OG 6-banger k-member and gonna use aftermarket motormounts. I hae heard talk of notching the k-member (or removing the the rear casting of the 2 pieces) and re-welding it again. Is this necessary? Also on the firewall there is that (a-body) flashing where the floorpan meets the upper section of the firewall. AHas anyone ever just tried to cut off that spot welded piece and massage the sheetmetal, then re-weld it? That damn flashing piece sticks out like almost an inch, so would be nice for it not to be there.
