No such thing as big bolt front drums for an a-body. What you need are spindles and hubs from a B or E body.

Why? All you need are a pair of 73-76 A-body upper ball joints and the B-body spindles with a pair of 73-76 A-body lower ball joints. It's going backwards from putting A-body discs on a B-body. You can even use the early A-body upper control arms if you use the spacer for the stud (Dr. Diff, I think).

well the general idea is to lose the weight up front...chuck the bracke drum and the bacing plates end up with the big upper ball joint and big bolt patternI suppose i can just machine the rotor off to just have a useable hub,Thank's Jim

No, I'm saying to get B-body drum brakes and do what you are planning. Lots of them around.
