Well another years gone by and i've just touched the front end with some cleaning and spraying of rust/metal converter and now i'm thinking of sending my car in as a Roller, completely stripped of all components except for Suspension to a shop to get Rockers replaced, Trunk floor(maybe do that myself) Rear quarters and A door Jamb i have all the metal to replace it(its just a matter of better skill and no time!) What would people think would be the about cost(I live in B.C Canada) To get a shop to do this kinda work as they can No super rush? I'm not big $$$ but to get a nice job with actual metal and not sooo much bondo in it lol.

Probably 70-80 hours. You will no doubt find more work when the bad metal is removed if you need both quarter, rockers, trunk floor and jam replaced....

Are you using cheap-o skins or full AMD quarters?? Just curious

was going to go with Full skins but try with like aftermarket ones....like Goodmark ones or something from Autoparts Canada...you have recommendations?

and for 8k to have say the "cosmetic" work properly done i'd feel kicked in the nads but I'd consider a "over 6months" feeling to get that done i'd do it then lol Then i'd feel like my car could be semi rust free for a long time at least...Then minor patches would be easier

Auto metal direct has full quarters available now, they will be better than the skins that have been available. Will same you money when it comes to body work. Really depends on your expectations of the car when it's done.....replacing the metal you listed in your first post is a lot of work.

First things first....get it blasted to see what your working with, patches may be all that is necessary.

Get everything on paper so you dont get screwed over like I did.The guy who did my body work wanted to be paid for his work befor paint went on now I know why.NEVER AGAIN.....................

Thats what i do for a living. Your looking at 10g's easy from start to finish. thats the best of everything. Iam down south US

This would be to the Point of just primed still needs the "minor bondo" to even it out and stuff like that...and I agree I think i'll have it blasted first then go from there...

rjsjea can you tell me what you had done to start? I love your setup i'm not going that into it on mine but what urs looks like body wise is pretty much what im going for other than the Huge mods lol.

The best mods are yet to come!!...if I ever get back to it. I had the entire car sandblasted (they used the fine black sand), underside, inside, outside, everything.....metal work that needed to be done, then we painted it using SEM dp90 epoxy sealer on the bare metal. The whole car was then skimmed with filler, blocked and now is in a high-build primer.

I will end up starting most of it over as I am changing some things eventually. Probably DA it down to the epoxy and go from there.

Hah ya, I have a 69 barracuda that is in the midst of the restoration. A good sandblasting place that I went to last summer was in Penticton, and its called Penticton sandblasting. They charged me $400 for a truck cab, doors and the box, and it was very nicly done. They did it quick too, only took then an afternoon!8)

any chance u remember there name? that sounds really good some guy wanted like 1400 to do the underside of my car only! i was like...ehhh no

The actual name of the place is called Penticton Sandblasting. It is on the other side of the channel, by the lumber mill.
