Bonding a Six Pack hood scoop to a fiberglass Duster hood

I'm glad to see you bond the scoop to the underside of the hood. I've seen way to many attached from the top, they begin to crack and lift as time goes on. I bonded a Pro Stock style hood scoop from the bottom on my bracket car. After 10 years, there are no signs of lifting or cracking.

After doing it this way I can't see why you'd choose to stick it on top. That method creates a step along the entire edge of the flange and leveling that seam/edge would require way more material. You're raising the hood surface to the flange about 1/16" and then you'd have to feather that out to make it look normal. Might as well just do it the cheesy way and rivet it on.

Filling in the seam where the hood meets the scoop has only taken a minimum of filler and it was easy to blend it into the contour of the bottom of the scoop sides. That did create some lower spots in the corners that have taken a few rounds of filler to level but it's still minimal compared to adding material around the entire edge. If I had gone a little further with fitment before bonding it might have reduced that a bit.
