Well, I have nowhere near the engine/drivetrain combo you have. What size tires are those? What suspension mods, if you don't mind? Do they hit at all?
No problem they are 30x10.5w M&H slicks but the are more like 32x12.5. The car isn't tubed the bottom of the wheel well was cut to fit and the springs inboarded with custom roller shackle mounts and leaf spring floaters for the ladder bar

Awesome, thanks! My M&Hs are 12-15 marked. They measure ~ 31-31.5 and that is too much without trimming the lip. I can't cut my car, so I will need a tad shorter tire. Love this car!

Thanks, that means alot. No real build thread. I have the whole story in my signature. True Mr Norms GSS car, fully documented and my Dad was the original owner. I found it in a barn via Craigslist in 2018. It had been there since 1984. I have taken some liberties to make it mine, but I only remember it as a race car, Dads, and nothing else. I love the 1970's Super Stock and Pro Stock cars. I would need to get a different car to really dive into that. I drive the car as much as possible and will have it at MCACN in Nov in the Mr Norms display.

nice really dig the car and cool history

So I have been playing with the car a bit to get it ready for this season as I got the green light to really race it heavily this year. Because the house has been bought ands all notes for cars done! I've finally been able to get the front brakes started on as well as doing some old pro stock trickery more on that in a bit... Plus I temporally stripped it to see about pinstripes and even photo chopped it for the full vintage effect if stickered and lettered. I will be changing the rear down bars in the spring and tubing it after taking it to the KC World of Wheels. So getting back to the pro stock thing I ordered an aluminum gen 2 hemi and will be collecting parts to revamp the car in 2 years to period correct 70-72 pro stock era and get away from the modified eliminator style class its in now.

A little more works in the brakes last night as I added ceramic bearings on the spindles waiting on fresh ball joints to show up.

I love the vintage Pro Stocks. It would be hard for me to tub the car as it is sooooo perfect as is, but have fun with it amd keep us posted. If mine wasn't what it is, I would likely go full super stock. Love it
I've held out for a while in putting the car under the knife fully but with the hemi coming. I'm plaining on extensive work to the chassis to bring the whole car up to 1972 spec

My highlight from MCACN. racers from backing the day. Amazing stories overall. Herb McCandless is a wonderful person.

Thanks, I'm super stoked to be able to do this thankfully my day job is the catalyst to the hook up. The build will visually be period correct but internally will be full trick race. the car runs high 9s now with this mill and with making the jump to the hemi I'm hopeful to dip into the 8.90s with this prostock tech.

Finished up the front end on Christmas eve (great gift). In doing so I bushed the strut rod pivots, and made the last hardware greaseable. Set up the runaway straps for 2" of drop and in total diched 60lbs of the nose of the car:)

It also looks like Landy did away with the torsion bars.

Then a little bit on Christmas Day and The following day with tackling converting the master cylinder to that of a 1970 240 z with a bunch of modifications to add -3 fittings and eliminate all metric sizing's. I went with this as a start to the hemi swap as in old pictures of early Pro stocks this was a common modification vs the single reservoir Hurst/Airheart similar to what I'm using for the slave cylinder as well as a full gut and simplification of all the brake lines to convert to -3. I'm attempting to use as much period tech in visible locations as possible(hence why the brakes calipers are painted. The icing was between the master and the old lines and distribution block was 9.8 lbs total. So with ditching the 73+ parts we shed just about 70lbs off the car.

Yep saw that! When I do the hemi I will convert to coil overs with front struts as I plan to mill a bushing' d receiver to accept a bearing on an support similar to what he did. This is part of struting the the nose with the removal of the inner fenders and the fabrication of aluminum ones. Just like the way it was done then.
