It is a 1987 Shelby Lancer #400

Car has leather and an automatic...interior looks new. It has 52,935 miles on it.

It was sold new in Indy to a family here in Columbus. I am only the 4th owner.

Came with all of the paperwork except the window sticker. Carroll Shelby only
produced this model in 1987. He made 800 total. Shows 400 with a 5 speed and
cloth and 400 with the auto and leather.

I've been looking several years for a numbered Shelby car that was in excellent condition.

Car is a survivor...orig paint and graphics...orig interior...factory Pioneer DEX-77
sound system with dual amps and 10 speakers. I think it's around 160 watts output.

I am a happy camper.:D
I know it's not an A body, but I had to share

Here's some pics

I always liked those turbo fwd mopars. Rare birds now, I would like to own a 5 speed one someday.

Sweet! The bad is it more than likely is do for a timing belt. :banghead:

I have never seen one before but I like it!

it has a very unusual look to it, so I think it will stand out at car shows :glasses7:

Very cool Tony I like it.I used to own a 86 Lancer(If it was a turbo I would still have it)............................................Jeff:

Pretty cool!

I know where an original 81 Charger 2.2 convertible is with near 16K original miles. Yeah, I said CONVERTIBLE CHARGER 2.2...

The dealer shipped 50 charger 2.2's to Texas to be converted to convertibles, this one was the "dealer demo" car and last one sold...

Pretty sure that it's the lowest mileage of any that may still be around...

Karl, any pictures?

Looks like you are going to need to build another garage Tony! You must like resale red turbo cars. Don't know if I ever seen a shelby lancer

Mr Fields, that is a tasty car... Like the Turbo 2.2 cars.

Nope, that was done by the last owner:D

When the last guy(garage owner) got it it had a tick in the top end. The rocker had
slid over from it's home. He decided to just go thru it. New roller cam and lifters,
re-bore .030 over with new pistons, water pump, oil pump, timing belt. He said
the bottom end was perfect....nothing had to be turned.

I waited a long time to find one of these that I didn't have to restore.

Tony, BIG congrats on finding the Shelby #400 so close to home. Patience has truly paid off on an unrestored example. Hopefully, you'll take it to a few shows this year after putting your finishing touches on it

Thanks C

I love this car!

Took it to a car show today down at Tonya's school. Haven't had time to wash it
yet. Chris and Sammie took the 'Cuda and I drove the Shelby. When we got there
we had mud splashed up on the doors of both cars. Didn't wipe them down so
they wouldn't be scratched. Just had them for display anyway. Would have been
a conflict of interest in my opinion as Tonya was one of the key people that
planned the show.

Did a little cruise in this evening after we got back...still not washed yet.
Brad is going to detail it in a couple of months.
