bowling families are you ??

We all bowl pretty competitively in many leagues and tournaments across state we live in and boarding ones as well. I am 45 she 43 and the kid is 16 and we have all been around bowling all of our lives and as a matter of fact we met in a bowling alley lol.

I bowl in three nights a week in different houses across two states. she only bowls one night now and just a fun league. The kid bowls in just a youth league and a fun league in the summer . She has won local tournaments and earned the right (numerous years)to bowl in whats called the JR Gold national bowling youth tourney.

It is compiled of around 2500-3000 of the best youth bowlers from around the country and you have bowl against and beat the best bowlers in their own state first to qualify. It is held in different cities each year and has been held in places like Nevada but also in Indy and last year it was Detroit and this year buffalo and next is Chicago


All this is fun for us and her and she also earns scholorship money for college and might even go to college on a bowling scholarship as well or at the very least bowl on her college team. She has been interviewed by many local papers and been on TV three times for her bowling. I am glad we passed it on to her because i was/am a good bowler as well as her mother but there was not any of these programs or opportunities for us as youth bowlers.

there is not enough time to tell all and show all but maybe there are other bowlers here as well and will enjoy some of this and maybe our great sport will gain a new bowler or two and i will add a few pics

My brother and I have been bowling together since we were old enough to carry one of those long strap Brunswick paisley bowling bags!! After too many years of "almosts", big brother Greg finally bowled his first 300...then his second maybe 2 months later!! Very proud of him!! Illl probably never see that, although with the help of my team mates I shot right by my first 600 series and shot a 767!! I retired that same night!!!.....

I love bowling with the kids, and we go as often as possible! Its a great family outing for pizza, bowling, video games, and family time together!! Love the sport, and probably always will!!

Personally bowling since 19 (46 now,haven't throw a ball in five years). A great way to reduce stress,in a team element. Miss the hell ,out of it.....
