Brighter Dash / Gauge lights..?

-
I have leds in the '72 Dart, they are no brighter, has a new headlight switch. May try the jumping the rheostat trick.

I went with these bulbs and they are dimmable with the knob. They are pricy but I’m hoping Sylvania is a cut above the no name LEDs on amazon. I only replaced the gauge lighting not things like turn signals, high beam indicator, oil and brake light

These are the ones I used. Worked great!

Just be sure to put the input voltage to the input side of the instrument fuse. I believe that is the side opposite from the fuse block screw. That way your circuit is still protected by the instrument fuse.

As I mentioned, when I did this, my instrument lights were still too dim for me. I even jumpered a ground to one of the attaching screws. Still no good! It could still be the ground connection from the circuit board to the frame but I won't know until I pull the dash. I'll do that once the LEDs arrive.
