Broken bench seat spring..

-split bench seat

The farthest seat spring on the drivers side has a clean break in the middle. What's the best way to fix this? is welding an option? I'm trying to avoid tearing the whole seat apart to get to this one spring.

The simplest repair is another spring banded onto it with small coils of heavy wire. Pretty much the same as how the springs are attached to the frame except factory used small pieces of sheet metal rather that wire wound round and round ( because welding tempered high carbon steel doesn't work ).

thank you. I'll just plan to hold off the repair until I recover the seats.
