I just bought a set of 340s hood inserts off ebay. The seller described them in his listing as having just one stud missing. The seller did a real lousy job of packaging and another pin was broken in transit (real thin layer of bubble wrap, crappy thin box, and masking tape for sealing the box!) And then on further inspection I found another one missing for a total of 3 pins missing, 2 on one insert, one on another.

The tops of the inserts are in pretty nice shape, just a few very minor pits. So, are the missing studs a big deal? Can you just use emblem adhesive to attach where the studs are missing?

To re-attach the mounting studs to the hood inserts, use J-B Weld.

Just make sure both surfaces are clean and grease/oil free, follow the directions on the J-B, and let it cure good and hard for at least 24 hrs before you try to do anything with it.

If done properly, the J-B will hold up for a LONG time.
