Just how the tittle sounds are bucket seats and the console for a automatic hard to find? Or cheap ? I'm looking into doing a bench to bucket conversion but don't know if it's hard to find two seats and the sender console? Can some or get me better informed on these things

been rough trying to find a decent console, seems like most people think their made out of gold! just had my original buckets recovered, but seems the same on them.------------bob
Varies with model. 66 through 69 buckets aren't as difficult to find as the later model high back buckets.
In any case the tracks beneath them are more difficult to find than the seat itself.
The coffin shaped center consoles are easy to find and really should be priced accordingly.
As stated above, some sellers think those are rare so they are overpriced.

Took me 2 years to find a nice (not perfect) set of high back buckets and tracks for my 71 Scamp
It can be difficult to find useable seats especially that don't need new covers.
Really nice consoles that don't show wear or pitting on the chrome are also hard to find.
These parts in very nice condition are desirable and can be pricey but
Every year thousands of these cars were made so the parts are out there in various conditions and if not perfect should be affordable.

I've just done what you are wanting to do. The consoles are around - like they say "pricey". Just be patient and keep looking. I got my console off ebay, at auction, for $61, $30 shipping. Great condition! I got console, most linkages, shifter and wiring harness. I was the only one that bid. A week before I saw console only go for $350. So, be patient.
As for the seats, if you can't buy locally, you will pay a small fortune for shipping. I bought a perfect set of cloth buckets for $23. They are from a Ford Escort, but will do until I find what I want. Probably some comfortable leather buckets. My advice is to drill floorpan in location of original buckets, weld in support plates, and modify any aftermarket rails to fit original holes. Then, if you decide to go original, seats will drop in.
