Build-Up 72 Duster

After the rear was out we started with the frame rails we got 2x3 box tubing and made strong frame rails we attached them by the old frame rail we cut half of the old frame rail open and clamped the new frame rail inside so we would have something to attach the new frame rail to then i welded it all together. after the rails were in we drilled 2 large holes for the bumper in the new crossmember that we made out of the box tubing.

cleaned up the frame rails and started cutting out the wheel tubs, but first i cut the quarter off so it would be easier. I hit the new frame rails with a rust incapsulator from eastwood, and on the old frame rails i hit them with a weldable primer from eastwood.

Now we need to weld in the new relocation kit. we bought it from PST. we cut one side of the frame rail and attached it to the back because that makes it stronger. then we had to cut out the holes for the shackles.

Then we started with the rear end. My dad found a set of 4:10 richmond gears, a new set of rear big bolt long stud axles, new drum brakes, and new perches. I sandblasted the entire housing and then hit it with primer. Then i cut the old perches off with an angle ginder. Then put a grinding wheel on and grinded down the primer where the new perches go, and then welded the new perches on.
