bumper guard rubber removal

How do you remove the rubber from the bumper guards ona 74 dart swinger? I am getting ready to have the bumpers rechromed along with the guards and woudl like to know how to remove the rubber before rechroming? thanks for any help

Most of those have molded in threaded studs with nuts and lock washers inside the guard. I've had to cut the rusty nuts away with a grinder and run a die over the studs threads. You dont want the stud to rotate inside the rubber and there is very little in there to prevent its rotating.
