I'm trying to find a hemi engine for a car I recently purchased. I understand that they usually go for 2500+, but I'm on a pretty tight budget and was hoping to get advice on how to find the best deal. Thanks.:glasses7:

If you find one for a price that seems too good to be true then it most likely has bearingfailure and /or dropped valveseat.

That said, Hemi and Budget don't go well together.
Better stick to a smallblock/bigblock.

Seems like on the Montana? CL I saw one advertised as being NEW crate engine for about that price, maybe mistaken

these guys are a sponsored FABO dealer maybe they can help you decide what to get and point you in right direction. I have seen great deals from wrecked cars with those hemis with all electronics included for cheap but there is a lot involved with installation so give these guys a call they might be able to help.

For that price, around here, you could buy a totaled Charger and get everything you need.

Have a look at Copart.com and search for Dodge or Ram trucks that would be in the years that would have a Hemi. Find one close to you that is wrecked beyond repair but still has a good engine and tranny. They go for real cheap. You would get the entire setup that way.

Something like this. http://www.copart.com/c2/homeSearch...e2s1&lotId=29727034&returnPage=SEARCH_RESULTS

There are lots of them with Copart yards all over the northeast.

I just sold a " like new" 2005 5.7 Hemi with less than 50 miles on it for $1700 as it was going to an awesome project.

There are deals......or stupid people like me! Lol!

Go to this site and do a search. It has listings from salvage yards all over the country, or by region. Some will even give you a warranty. You can see what price and mileage are available in your area.

This site actually has some good deals. I can't find anything on the site that says if the car has a running engine or not. Is this just me or is it not there?

When I click on your link it show a charger. Look right in the middle of the page, it's says run and drive. That means it is a running drivetrain. Does not mean it's in good shape though. You can go to their yards and inspect vehicles that you want to bid on. Read all of the info on the site.

Reviving this to ask a question about brokers.

When I try to bid on things it says to get a broker. Damn most of those guys want a chunk of change! Too much for my blood anyway. Is anyone on FABO a broker or know anyone that has decent prices for their service?

Thanks!

Mike

ive been broke for ages, but since I got my duster last year im a whole lot broker ;)
