..or go into several dealerships and a for a quote on a specific car,,,tell them you are doing think in 3 dealerships..low one wins..
And if they give you a price and say, "Let me know if someone else beats it..."
I like to tell them that they better give me their best price, because I'm not going to be a ping-pong ball going back and forth between dealers so they can keep knocking five bucks off (figure of speech).
Give me your best price right now, because if anybody beats it, I'm buying from them.
And if they ask, "what price did the other guy give you?", don't tell them the exact price. Tell them a price $300 - $1000 cheaper and make them work for it.
Or when they give you the price, tell them that you already have a better one and make them go back and get a lower price.
Like I said earlier, show them a stack of bills and don't be afraid to walk out. It will mind f*ck them. They hate to see money walking out the door.
When my son and I were looking at a newer used GTO, the salesman told us that they only let "serious" customers test drive the high performance cars. (They get many people who can't afford them just coming in for a joy ride). I pulled out $5000 in cash from my pocket and showed it to him (didn't even count it, just showed him "the stack"). He immediately walked away and came back with the keys.... Money talks....
