Was wondering if anyone knew what color calipers were painted from factory? Have a 1970 Duster 340. Mine have traces of gold paint on them. Thanks...........

I've got a Mopar Chassis Parts Color Chart in the shop. Not sure if it has brake components on there but I'll look for you when I head out there later.

I looked at my list this afternoon and then forgot to post the answer. Sorry.

It says they were cast iron gray. Which probably means ...... rusty. :-D

Not many car companies painted the calipers......they were left as cast, or sometimes were coated with Zinc Dichromate, or Zinc.
I painted mine.......glassbead blasted them, painted, then backed in an oven, and then assembled with new parts.
They are Red.....not orange....and not metallic, just a solid colour.

They weren't painted.
Rusty brown is the original color.
I paint mine black.
Before, and after pictures.
