I have the following cam in my new 408. Does anyone know what degree this cam should be installed at? (install centerline) I had it installed @ 112* in my last combo, but was never sure if that was right.

Do you want the power to be at lower rpm, or higher rpm?

Well I wasn't looking to move the rpm range at all. I just don't have any of the original cam card specs. I thought the recommended install centerline was sometime different than the centerline number. I do have a old cams spec sheet that list a bunch of cams on the back. And it has recommend install centerlines, but my cam is not on the sheet.

Now is moving from a 112* on my last combo to 114* on this combo is retarding the cam by 2* and raising the the rpms? Do I have that right?

Or if I was to go from 112* to 110* would be advancing it and lower the rpm range right?

What is the reason you suggest 110*?
I like lots of bottom end and midrange torque on the street but I somehow missed the 408 cid part, my bad, though u shouldnt have a lack of that in the 1st place cause that cam is tiny for the motor u have.
I would say that if you want more power all around but don't wanna lose upper rpm torque, then get a bigger cam ...something with a 108-110cl, definitely nothing with more than 112 degrees. Advancing it will only make it seem smaller when its already tiny @114 and 284.

I called and got a recommendation from Comp Cams today. The tech suggested a 20-228-4 cam after taking all my info. Anyone got any opinions of this cam for my combo below

408
F.A.S.T Ez efi (needs around 10'vac to operate)
Edlebrock air gap
Edlebrock rpm alum. Heads
727 TF
3800 stall 9" dynamic converter
4:30 gears (maybe on list next to raise for slightly higher easier driving)

Link to the cam specs they suggested
