Can I make a 5.9 magnum work in a 91 ramcharger with 91 fuel injection?

Sounds dumb but a buddy of mine wants to know if I can replace his 91 EFI 318 with a 5.9 magnum by putting a carb intake on the 5.9 magnum and bolting on the EFI off the 91 318. I told him he should just put the magnum in and carb it. The 91 is puffing smoke like crazy.

Not sure but I think you need to switch the computer for the 5.9 and then I am not sure if the 318 EFI will run at optimal performance.

I think it would work but probably wouldn't be optimal.
