I'm looking to put a 323 suregrip in my Duster. I talked to a junkyard nearby and doesn't have one set up but he does have a 323 open diff and suregrip unit he would sell me fore $350 but I would have to set it up myself. Is it really that easy or would I need to buy anything else?

You haven't stated, do you have 8 3/4. $350 sounds pricey. Have you been on DR Diffs website
Yes I currently have an 8 3/4 with 276 gears and an open diff. 741 case...with the smallest yoke. Nope I haven't been on DR's website I will check them out.

You can buy a SG unit and a ring and pinon of your liking. You will have a chunk of change right there. Plus you have to set it up or pay someone. Some people will tell you the 741 case is inferior, but it can withstand plenty.
I have a 489 and a 741 case.

On another note they come up for sale time to time. Or you can place a wanted ad for what your looking for.

I have put a lotta lotta street hurt on 741s and as long as you don't peg-leg it or run it outta EP oil, they'll keep going like the Energizer Bunny.
Any 8.75 Mopar SG will fit in any Mopar 8.75....... But IIRC the SGs take different side bearings than the opens. I know the track-loc does. So make sure you get the bearings with it just in case.
But for $350 he should give you the entire assembled Diff , cuz there is no demand for the rest of it. Maybe put another 10% on the table, and grab it all; save yourself the hassle of RnR-ing it.
If the ratio is different from what you currently have, that will skew your speed-O reading.

Installing a suregrip is super easy and if that junkyard 8-3/4 is in good shape and it's a clutch type suregrip (or a verified good cone type SG), $350 is a decent price for it. If that were near me I'd buy it and swap in the SG and flip it it for at least a $200 profit

If you decide to buy it I have a PDF file that details swapping in a spool. Swapping in a SG would be the exact same process. If you need it PM me and I'll send it to you

While those look good I researched and find they cost a little more than a brand new clutch type suregrip from Dr. Diff

You can buy the 3.23 open. Then all you need to install the sure grip into the 3.23 case is a dial indicator so you can set the backlash. The hard part, setting the pinion depth, has already been done. Is the sure grip used with bearings? Or talk to Dr Diff and get a new Sure Grip with bearings and swap that into your 3.23's.
