Your best bet is to get a lawyer and see a doctor asap. You back injuries are where you money recovery will be. There is a reason daytime TV is filled with these ambulance chasers.
 
Sounds like he sign all his rights to sue away by collecting-settling for $1,800. I sure the insurance company put that in to the paperwork and once you sign it or cash the check its all over with.

If 2 months later on, you can not climb out of bed due to a back back and you need surgery too bad, that is why you should have health insurance, lol
