Define "bumping" the starter relayThe car acts like it is dead and won't crank but all my lights still work and I can start it by putting the key to the on position and bumping the starter relay
Define "bumping" the starter relay
I see you don't have a battery hold down. You can (and should get one) get an inexpensive one at an auto parts store. If you ever hit the brakes hard or someone hits you, the battery will fly around. Not good.Usually I use a BFH and give it a couple of wacks (bumps) right here.... but some people like to use a large screwdriver like this...
Just kidding... I only use the bfh... I mean screwdriver method lol.

It depends on how it is used. I'm trying to determine if the problem is the relay itself, the voltage that is supposed to go to the relay, or the NSS side of thingsIsn't the screwdriver a remote starter switch? It connects the same two contacts
Just go aheah and get the mopar mini starter, you will be glad you did. Spins it over faster, does not rob excessive voltage from your ignition system like your stock mopar starter does.
Will start like it has fuel injection, quick starts.

I already have one of those, 1995 dodge Durango.
Sounds like it just needs replacement then, that '95 Durango starter is 25 years old. Time to swap it out.
Have you tried wiggling the gear shifter when turning the key, or shifting into neutral while turning the key? Doesn't cost you anything, maybe the shifter is out of adjustment.
Yes I've tried that. I installed the shifter myself and it's 100% aligned on a curve grading system. Meaning 75% straight in alignment got me an A+ grade lol.
I also used the new common core math system to do my measurements. So.... it must be right.
Not to derail this thread...but...how is your head porting going?? Haven’t seen an update lately.
Just curious.
2+3= 7. I'm sure that there was a bend in there at the vertical.

I think its actually less than a year old. Replaced it when I did my headers then got a warranty replacement last year.
