see if any racers has a answer to this, what advantage or disadvantage would be if the carb was mounted sideways than straight, the carb in question is a 1050

The plenum/manifold plumbing for a normal mounting wouldn't allow fuel to feed four of the cylinders if the carb. was mounted sideways.

That would only hold true for a dual plane manifold with a full plenum divider.

yes 440,indy heads and manifold,i ran it sideways last year, did ok,no problems, but had it switched to e-85,and he says with the long extentions for the jets in the rear it should be straight, another guy says if sidesways will elimiate fuel slosh, but you see them on tunnel rams mounted sideways

I'm not too sure but I think that whole sideways deal came about because the big fuel bowls won't fit end to end, at least on some manifolds "back then."

People running "center squirt" carbs, -- all four barrels, actually all eight-- wont' have this distro problem

sideways and slightly leaning lol

Just how we like them right SS
