when i am driving my 69 dart with a 273 and a 2barll when i go to accelerate hard it sometimes stalls or takes some time to accelerate i was thinking the car needs a rebuild and accelorator pump how do i know what kit i need and where can i find a good kit.

thanks matt

Matt, your carb should have casting numbers in the body; this number is what you'll need when you go to buy a carb kit.

You can get them locally (sometimes) at your neighborhood car part store, SummitRacing.com, Jegs.com, or all of the other aftermarket places. Just do a google search for 'carburetor kit' and it'll bring up a bunch of choices.

Your problem may be as simple as a clogged fuel filter.

Good luck!

I've opened quite a few carb kits just for the new accelerater pump.
Good luck

Could be a filter, but sounds like the accelerator pump........same ol same ol...........They wear out pretty fast in my experience..........went through quite a few in my 318's and 273's...........pretty easy fix though.........

As far as the best quality parts, don't know any more........there are just so many foreign parts now that I can't keep track........even "big name" companies have sold us down the river..............

Maybe someone else has more expertise on what parts to buy..... :read2:
