So i wanted my 11 year old boy to have some input on my motor rebuild. After looking at a ton of pictures he liked the way a 4bbl carb looked. Well im not one to shatter hopes and dreams so ive gathered parts they last couple of weeks(thanks FABO members). The motor is currently in the machine shop it'll end up at .030 over after i get it back ill measure piston depth and get head milled for the ballpark of 8.9-9.2:1 cr. Head is a later peanut plug head with 340 springs.Cam is an oregon cam new blank 2106r (specs 214/210 @ .050”, 254/254 adv, .444”/.434” lift, 108 lobe sep). Im gonna open up the stock exhaust outlet and put a 2.5"tti full exhaust on the car. The trans was rebuilt in the 90's when my great uncle had the car has a shift kit and unknown stall converter with only about 20k miles on it. Rear is an 8 3/4 unknown gears (2.76-2.94 for sure). Car is driven 60 mile round trip a day. Interstate speeds of 70-75 and back road crusing and 50-65. Sorry for the long post i didnt want to miss anything and thanks for the help on an all to often asked question. Id rather have good info before i spend the money on a new carb.
