i have the same setup as you except for the heads, . i run a holley 750 hp.runs great my only regret is i bought vac sec.wishing now i would have got the d.p.

I am curious how well the Q750 Quick fuel (no choke) cold start up is? Not that it gets real cold around these parts but it is a daily driver for me.
I have a new one to try out on my now too lean 340.

I'd try borrowing a 750 carb see how much vacuum it pulls and decide from there.
An 850 probably an improvement anyways but who knows if it's 1hp or 25 hp on your combo.

On my car I got an 800 edlebrock on a 380hp create and runs strong even with 2.96 gears.
