Carlisle Chrysler Nationals Carlisle, PA

I'm actually planning on going to both this year! Life's to short, time to live a little.
Went to both last year, Carlisle is awesome, but the nats has drag racing.
Carlisle has a better food. The best food I found is outside the gate at the bottom of the swap meet, there is a house there, that a local civic group sell hamburgers and hot dogs really reasonable.
Tip keep a cooler full of Gatorade in your car. Drink lots of liquids, normally it is hot.

Awesome! Thanks for the tips. Unfortunately will be walking in cuz my car is not going to be done. In fact Rich the heater box guy will be delivering my heater box there.

First trip to Carlisle for us.

Was going to pull up with the Coach but opted for a remoter Hotel and pulling with the 3500 Ram. I learned after booking the hotel that we could park the trailer onsite. 40x12 camping was not going to work with 42 feet of coach and 30 feet of trailer. By my calcs we would need 4 spots with the Coach being 14’ wide with the slides out. It was cheaper to get the hotel. Oh well, will be there anyhow and the wife can help drive. She is not comfy driving the coach yet but drives the Ram like a Man!

Bring a wagon to put parts in.
Normally I end up making several trips back out to the car to put parts in, and grab something to drink.
And wear your most comfortable pair of shoes.

I will be there again Wed-Sun AM O-190 stop in and say hello.

And have plenty of water and sunblock!

First time going. Will be there Thr-Sun. Camping in the area. Hoping it gives me a boost of inspiration to kick my projects into high gear after my new garage is complete this fall. Will be watching this thread for good advice like sunblock, water, where the good eats are, etc.

We eat breakfast and lunch at the show .
Very good!
Wide variety of food and environment at night .
We go to the casino in grantville.
Not too far away.
Be prepared to be amazed!

Plenty of places on the grounds and just outside the gate to eat. We found a place downtown Carlisle called Hamiltons….excellent breakfast and dinner!!
Look on site for a vendor, has a couple corner spots, with a very large BBQ grill and a little shack for food sales.
You pay $3 for a large glass of ice tea. Keep the glass and re-fills are $2. We used the same glass for 4 days...good stuff.
Up with the food vendors at the large grandstand go to the far right end as you look at it. Last year Amish ladies were cooking...yumm!!
Have FUN!!

Good call. I'll have to see if my buddy has a wagon we can bring. He lives in the area. Or were's the closest Wally World?

Hey Dartfreak75,

Where in VA? I'm in Portsmouth.
I hadn't thought about going, but do have some big '72 Fury III and some 68-69 Barracuda parts.
I'd have to work out some logistics pretty soon to make it.

Thanks,
Dan

Cool, I had family that used to live in Roanoke and my oldest daughter and her husband lived in Floyd when she was getting her PHD from VT.

It'd be cool if I could make Carlisle, but don't think I'll be able to, but may shoot for Dinwidde in September.

Excellent description.
The best thing is everybody is so polite and nice, it is like being around old friends.

I only ran into one weird dude it was last year, he was stumbling around drunk before noon, complaining about the price of beer.
I told him if the beer cost so much don't buy it. He just took another drink and stumbled on.

I'll be there for sure. Renewed my spots as I left last year. May or may not sell some keys.
I'll be at Mopar Nats too. Hopefully we'll have better weather than last year.

Reserved a spot Tuesday. M-17.
Taking a few items to warrant the spot. Guy in office seemed a little testy that ( he thought) l was wanting a spot so l was " in" and not having to park outside. ( what difference does it make ? They are getting their money , aren't they?)
Anyhow- - - Looking for a pair of tail lites for '63 Valiant WAGON. ( Not asking for much, l know. )
Hope to get to talk to some early - a body guys while there.
